Welcome Home
Welcome home and thank-you for your service and sacrifice.
"Welcome home" is a simple phrase but it may have many different meanings for different veterans. For some it means where the heart is or a place to relax, but for others it means entering into a different type of conflict. Before you were deployed you were trained to fight an unfamiliar enemy in unfamiliar surroundings, but no one trained you for the unexpected conflicts or challenges you would encounter returning home.
We are here to help. We know and understand the booby traps that our minds play; we’ve been hit by the IEDs (Inability to Explain Difficulties); the flashbacks; nightmares; drinking to numb the pain; the fear of the night and the prayer that the Lord would let us not wake up; and the list grows.
We offer help in identifying and assisting veterans, family members, and congregations with the various issues and needs that many returning soldiers display. We are different than many counseling service organizations in that we make use of God’s strength, mercy and forgiveness in the application of human care. We approach healing from a Christian and Lutheran perspective.
