Ann Smith
She is a licensed clinical social worker. Before receiving her Master of Social Work degree in 1987, she worked as an elementary and middle school classroom teacher with the Fort Wayne Community School system for 17 years. Throughout the last 22 years she has worked in various settings in the field of social work as a counselor and case manager. She has worked in settings such as outpatient mental health counseling, school counseling, and inpatient geriatric psychiatry. Since 2006, Ann has worked in Private Practice counseling clients of various ages. Ann specializes in individual, family and group counseling. In her work with children from ages 5-17 on an individual basis and within the family, she recognizes the unique challenges that the children in military families and their families are often faced with. As a therapist Ann is very familiar with the common mental health issues such as depression, anxiety and separation related to the deployment of a parent or significant loved one. Since 2009, Ann has served on the LMVFM Board of Directors, and also serves as an instructor in the LMVFM Basic Training Seminars. Additionally, Ann also co-leads LMVFM retreats.
